jsrr.in is an independent index of the scholarships, fellowships and research grants open to students and researchers in India, from Class 9 to postdoctoral work, together with the Central and State government programs of every kind, from study and training to pensions and housing. It is published on jsrr.in.
Why the index exists
The calls that matter to a student are scattered. A Central scholarship is notified on the National Scholarship Portal, a research fellowship in an agency’s office memorandum, a state award on a department website, a university’s own scheme in a PDF on its notice board. Each states the amount, the conditions and the last date in its own way, and a last date moved by a fortnight is easy to miss. jsrr.in puts the facts that decide an application in the same order on every page, so that two awards can be compared in a minute and a deadline is seen before it passes.
What an entry gives you
Every entry opens with a brief: what the award pays (the amount, or the monthly stipend with any contingency or research grant), the tenure, the last date with the days left, who can apply and who runs it. The sections that follow set out the eligibility conditions as the official listing states them, the award value in detail, the documents to keep ready, the selection process and the application steps, with renewal rules where the award has them and the errors that commonly cost applicants their chance. Each entry also gives the provider’s portal and its official documents.
Around the entries sit the tools a student actually needs: a deadline calendar, lists by stage, field and group, a matcher that works from your profile, a side-by-side comparison, a shortlist kept in your own browser, and calculators for fellowship stipends, age limits and CGPA conversion. Every figure in the calculators comes from an official notification, named on the tool’s page with the date it was checked.
What jsrr.in is not
jsrr.in is not a funding agency, a government body or an agent. It is not connected with any ministry, university, portal or provider, it does not accept applications, documents or fees, and it has no say in any selection. Applications are made only on the provider’s portal. If anyone offers to secure an award for a payment, they are not acting for the provider or for us.
How the site is paid for
The index is free to use. It carries advertising, which pays for its upkeep. Advertisers have no say in what is listed or how it is described, and no award is listed or ranked in return for payment.
Corrections, suggestions and questions are welcome at contact@jsrr.in.
How an entry is compiled
- From the official call. Each entry is written from the provider's call, guideline or portal listing. Nothing here is lifted from another website.
- Drafted, then checked. An AI tool writes the first draft of most entries, working only from that record. Every amount and date in a draft has to match the official text, a stipend keeps the period the source gives, and anything the record does not state, such as a last date, is left out rather than guessed.
- Reviewed entries say so. An entry that a member of our team has checked against the source shows the date it was checked and the reviewer's name. Without it, the entry has not yet been reviewed by a person.
- Kept current. Last dates are watched for extensions and corrected when a provider announces one; reported errors are checked against the source first.
