Scholarships and fellowships in the social sciences, humanities and law, 2026
Scholarships and fellowships for the social sciences, humanities, languages and law, including the fellowships of research councils such as ICSSR and the humanities stream of the UGC fellowships.
Fellowships in these fields often pay a different contingency grant from science fellowships: UGC, for example, gives humanities and social science fellows Rs. 10,000 a year as JRF and Rs. 20,500 a year as SRF. Keep the master’s marksheets, the NET certificate or selection letter, and a short research proposal ready.
