The entire amount received must be maintained as a corpus in an interest-bearing account within a government or public sector bank.
In case we intend to establish a smaller green space within the highly congested parts of our city, what are the permissible minimum and maximum land size limits?
The designated area must be a minimum of 1 hectare and can go up to a maximum of 10 hectares strictly within the city limits.
While planning the landscape and various components of the proposed green space, is there a mandatory proportion of the total land that must be dedicated specifically to woodlands?
At least two-thirds of the total designated area must be maintained under proper tree cover or woodlands to meet the core environmental objectives.
What specific mapping and geographic documentation must be included along with the detailed project proposal to clearly define the boundaries of the selected land?
Applicants need to submit a Keyhole Markup Language map on a 1:10,000 or larger scale, which must include accurate Global Positioning System coordinates detailing the boundary.

The project must cover a minimum of 10 hectares, and while there is no upper size limit, financial support is strictly capped at a maximum of 50 hectares.
To account for future expansion and provide greener surroundings, how far outside the official municipal corporation or municipality boundaries can the proposed forest site be located?
The selected site can be situated up to a maximum distance of 5 kilometres from the official municipal or city limits.
Before initiating the formal application process and formulating the detailed management plan, what is the most critical prerequisite regarding the legal status of the proposed land?
The implementing agency must have legal possession of the proposed land, which can be either forest land or other vacant non-forest public land.
Once the environmental project is fully developed and operational, are there any restrictions on whether local residents and visitors can enter and utilize the designated green spaces?
The developed spaces must remain open and accessible to city dwellers and the general public, although suitable restrictions can be applied for proper management.
When deciding on the types of plants and trees to include in the designated area, what specific types of species should the applicant prioritize for plantation?
Priority should be given to species best suited for local conditions, including fruit-bearing trees, medicinal plants, and varieties that attract birds and butterflies to enrich biodiversity.
For how many years will the implementing agency receive direct financial support from the government to help establish and maintain the newly created urban forest or garden?
Financial assistance is provided exclusively for the first two years of the project to support initial development and non-recurring expenses.
Are implementing agencies allowed to collaborate with private entities, industries, or civil society groups to manage and fund the various components of the proposed green space?
